This morning, I checked Audible website to see how the book is doing. It seems to he on sale.
This year has been a tough one. Without going into long winded details – since the controlled fall in Feb, I’ve been essentially subjecting myself to mental stress and an endless circle of back problems (Most, presumably stress related, I guess…knowing it and solving it are two different things.)
As such, a lot of issues I wanted to get out, weren’t. A lot of chapters I wanted to finish, weren’t. I have done the following; finished an 86k novel in a “Fantasy Apocolpsype” genre that is in need of editing. I wrote out a few rambles, one of which I’ll be linking to today (And this is the link). I’ve tried hard to at least be around and respond to people during the brief spurts of focus.
And again, I don’t want to whine (but oh god how I do) – but this year is balls.
The Fiasco’s Pre-order is out. My wife may have posted it. This means the free draft version on this website WILL BE REMOVED ON OR BEFORE AUG 1st. This is your warning.
There’s going to be an audiobook version. I think, if we find the right voice, that it’ll be hilariously funny. I was reading the proof and laughing at my own book – pretty sure some other guy wrote these funnier bits. Maybe one of the editors stuck in some standup comedy gold.
Anyway, I plan on offering up free copies of the audiobook at review milestones. I can do the same for Continue online if people are interested. I’d need some feedback from the audience… (so post below)
Thanks, those of you out there who take the time to read these posts, and continue to stick with me for more content. It means a lot.
Woohoo! This has been a long time coming (we commissioned a design in February) our first foray into illustrative covers and we’re quite pleased with the outcome. However we have a little snag on perfecting the book title and author font.
We need your help!!! I’ve created a poll for the three examples above that are possible cover choices – please keep in mind that we CAN move the title and author name around so those aren’t stuck in place so if you feel like one is good but you just wish the author name was higher/lower on the cover please feel free to make a comment here or on the poll itself! Absolutely any comments/questions/concerns are welcome regarding the three choices – I hope to hear from you all and get your help and opinions! Thank you 🙂
Today’s review is a portal fiction, one of the originals that got me started years ago. Her Majesty’s Wizard—book one in a fun series.
If you’ve been a long-time fantasy reader, but have never touched the Wizard in Rhyme series —then you need to back up and give this one a go. Seriously, look at the first book. I started with one later in the series, then picked up the first one. It was very enjoyable.
Time for a Television show review. River, not about rivers, but a detective named River.
Hold onto your horses, I’m about to go full on frothing at the mouth, soapbox, ranting homeless guy on a street corner at you. River’s acting is fan-forking-tastic. I’m not kidding. There are a few reasons but it’s mostly the acting.
Hi all, hope you’re having a great weekend so far, I know we are because April has been a wonderful month for us and 2 awesome things happened just yesterday.
First: I mentioned a while back we had plans to pursue an audiobook for the Continue Online series… perhaps Stephan will write a ramble about the process, but it was a long one, much longer than we had anticipated, but we took away a lot of lessons and next time should be smoother! But it’s here, Continue Online Part 1, Memories officially has an audiobook, you can click the picture or caption to take you to Audible. OR if you are one of the first 5 people to email frustratedwriting AT gmail DOT com you will receive a FREE code for a credit to download Continue Online!*ETA these are US Audible codes* This is a thank you to those who still follow Stephan’s blog, have supported us by commenting here on his drafts/rambles/etc… buying his books and just being an awesome audience. Thank you!!!
Second: We received the first round of edits back for The Fiasco In News from our amazing editor – she cleaned house for sure, and there’s a bunch of feedback/comments for Stephan to fix now (yes, he just groaned lol). 100% worth it to produce the best possible book for all you superhero novel fans!!! Once he’s done with his side of the edits, we’ll send it back for a final round of proofreading and then if there’s interest, we will be offering up ARC copies of a fully polished/edited book! I’ll announce that sometime closer to release (we’re thinking late July). Oh and the cover…. oh yes, our FIRST(won’t be our last) illustrated cover, it’s fan-frickin’-tastic… just wait 😉
As always, feel free to leave comments/questions/concerns below!
I wanted to share an interview Stephan did with Scott Mullins at thisiswriting.com. You can check out the post here.
Scott’s site is an awesome resources for writers and readers as he has posts offering writing/marketing tips, and readers can possibly find interviews of their favorite authors or find new authors/books as he also posts book reviews/book excerpts(hint:excerpts of Once Lost Lords and Trials of the Chief are there too!) Thank you, Scott, for the opportunity!
