Interview with Stephan Morse

Hey guys! Joleene of Amaranthine Night interviewed Stephan about his latest release, really great read and brought a smile to my face! Thanks, Joleene!

Amaranthine by Joleene Naylor

interviewToday we have Stephan Morse, author of The Fiasco in News, with us. His book will release August first. To celebrate, he has a Rafflecopter contest going on that you can enter for a chance at a paperback copy!

TheFiascoInNews800CoverRevealPromotionalJo: Welcome Stephan! Please tell us a little something about your newest release.

Stephan:  My newest book is The Fiasco In News, which follows Adam Millard—a sarcastic and cursed person in a world of high superpowers like Marvel of D.C. universes. Adam’s power attracts superpowered events of all sorts and keeps him alive. Since he has no other powers of note, we end up getting a chronic kidnap victim’s point of view on all these hero and villain events. I took a chance to showcase less desirable abilities, how they impact people, those trying to find their place in a crazy world, and the repercussions of being constantly yanked around…

Goodness My Brain (Ramble & Signed Book Raffle!)

Well, those of you still with me, may have noticed this year has been low in terms of production. It’s not specifically because of a lack of new writing, but juggling a few new aspects while trying to get back to work. So, here’s the other ramble I wrote. This is a very brief piece on some comparisons between bad guys in some popular stories.

I’ve got an audiobook for The Fiasco In News hopefully to start recording in Aug. If we can keep on track, it will be one of the funniest things I’ve ever listened to. I hope to work with Pavi (the vocal artist that did Continue Online #1) sometime in Sept to start recording the second book.

Here’s the vague plan for July itself. I want to start searching for artists that can redo the covers on Continue Online’s books. An actual artist taking care of the covers would make them stand out more and avoid the recycled clipart looks they have now. Somewhere in the middle of that, I want to finish drafting Royal Scales book 4.

However, I’m torn on releasing more content in the serial fashion. At this point, the first three books are ‘sample’ on my site (As is The Fiasco Book 1 now), so it makes it hard for new readers to get through the storyline and enjoy themselves. I’m not sure how valuable it is to people still out there. I’m leaning toward putting them up anyway, simply because it gives me a chance to sort myself out.

I have my April writing project done, the wife is going through it for first draft edits. We have a really short space western story that’s about 16k to post. There’s other stuff to get out one of these years when I’m sane…

As the final note, since the official release of The Fiasco is a month away, August 1st, we decided to host a giveaway for a signed paperback edition of The Fiasco In News! The contest is open to the US only (sorry! we will host a giveaway for the eBook version sometime after the August release date)
